Committees and Working Groups
The AFG strives to provide its members with the broadest possible range of needs-responsive services. Through its working groups and committees, it engages with members and keeps them up to date. There are currently 22 standing committees, which form the association's mainspring. The Board of Directors is responsible for creating these forums, which are generally chaired by one of its members, and for establishing their objectives.

Working groups are formed on specific issues, such as the implementation of MiFID in French statutes and regulations.
Meetings, seminars, conferences
“Focus On” meetings: The AFG organises these briefings for its members, enabling industry participants and specialists to discuss topical issues in asset management. Around ten meetings attracting up to 2,000 participants are held each year. Notable “Focus On” meetings were devoted to automation of investment fund circulation, the new investment fund authorisation rules and the authorisation process for venture capital funds, innovation funds and local investment funds that are eligible for tax reductions for investment in small and medium-sized enterprises.
“Management Issues” , is a very popular conference and debate organised by the AFG at its annual reception for the financial industry. This roundtable discussion is a complement to workshops for AFG members on asset management that focus on the main issues of the day. The “Management Issues 2008” event was held on 20 May 2008 and the topic was “2008, a year for long-term savings?”. The facilitator for the roundtable discussion was Alain Leclair – Chairman of the AFG and the other participants were Jean-François Cirelli – CEO of Gaz de France, Jean de Demandolx-Dedons – Chairman of J. de Demandolx Gestion SA and a member of the AMF Board, Gérard de La Martinière – Chairman of the FFSA, Yves Perrier– CEO of CAAM, François Perrin-Pelletier – Chairman of FAIDER, Jean-François Théodore – Deputy CEO of NYSE Euronext. The introduction for the discussion was given by Pierre Bollon – CEO of the AFG.
